Intussusception in Adult due to Lipomatous Polyp - An Uncommon Case Report

Intussusception, invagination of a segment the gut into an adjacent one, is relatively common cause intestinal obstruction in children but very rare and uncommon clinical entity adults accounting to 1% near about 65% these are caused by malignant lead point. The Lipomatous polyp accounts for 4% all benign tumors gut. In most cases, seen particularly large intestine, usually sub mucosal around ileocecal valve. These mostly often asymptomatic. Mrs. Rahima Begum aged 65 years, previously was healthy Bangladeshi housewife, with history recurrent abdominal colic moderate intensity last 6 months, associated appearance mass right lower quadrant features sub-acute got admitted Ibn Sina Medical College Hospital, Kallyanpur, Dhaka, Bangladesh. required relevant investigations revealed Ileocolic intussusception underwent hemicolectomy. Postoperative recovery patient uneventful excepting hypertension only. Histopathology lipomatous arising from Ileocecal junction. This study reports intussuception adult due polyp, case presenting acute obstruction.
